Need for your school aged children 5 years (K) to 12 years old? No need to worry, we have got it covered! Please check out the School Age Summer Program at all JBSA locations for safe and fun summer adventure. Cost varies according to household income. Make sure your child is registered on to request care beginning July 17.

Youth Program

JBSA-Lackland Youth Programs includes programming for School Age care, Youth Sports, Teen Programs and extra curricular activities. Youth Programs implements activities targeting recreational, educational and pro-social programs designed to promote efficacy in self-esteem, character development, healthy lifestyles, academic excellence, leadership and fitness.

School Age Program

School Age Programs offer before and after school care for youth ages 5-12. Summer and holiday camps are available seasonally. School Age Programs offers clubs during the
school year for a variety of interests and are affiliated with the The Boys and Girls Clubs of America and 4-H Clubs

Teens and Open Recreation

Youth Programs offers teens and preteens a wide-range of recreational, social, leadership and volunteer opportunities.

Girls ages 8-17 are invited to join SMART Girls where they can learn about and develop a healthy attitude and lifestyle, as well as acquire and maintain a positive self-concept, sound decision-making skills and mentor relationships. Sessions include mentors, guest speakers, hands-on activities and field trips.

Torch Club
Torch Club is a powerful vehicle through which Club staff can help meet the special character development needs of younger adolescents (ages 9-12) at a critical stage in their life. It's a leadership development business club. Torch Club members learn to elect officers and work together to implement activities in 4 areas: service to Club and community, health and fitness, education, and social recreation.
Submit an application to become a member, the group meets on Wednesdays at 4:30 PM.

Titan Keystone Club
Keystone is the Boys & Girls Clubs Movement's ultimate teen program. This national program a unique leadership development experience for high-school youth, ages 14-18. Youth participate, both in and out of the Club, in activities in 3 focus areas: academic success, career preparation and community service.
Submit an application to become a member, meetings are held Thursdays at 6 PM.

Youth Sports

Youth Sports are open to ages 5-17. Coaches’ meetings take place at the Lackland Youth Center. Sports offered include spring baseball, summer and winter basketball and spring and fall soccer. Dates are tentative and are subject to change. Parents registering for multiple sports will experience time overlaps. A $15 late fee per child is applied to all late registrations. Physicals and immunizations are required at the time of registration and must be current for the duration of the activity.

Instructional Classes

Youth Programs offers individual and group classes year-round. Disciplines include martial arts, music, dance and movement classes. Contact Youth Programs for current classes, dates, availability and participation requirements.

First Steps
First Steps is a non-competitive instructional and development program for ages 3-5 that runs for 6 weeks. Instruction is offered for Baseball, Soccer and Basketball. Sessions are 1 hour and parents select the date and time for each session. Physicals and immunizations are required at the time of registration and must be current for the duration of the activity.
